Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Hegs Performance collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What I collect
When you sign up, the form collects:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address — this becomes your client portal login
- Your mobile number
- Where you're based, and whether you want online or in-person coaching
- Your training experience and how you heard about me
- What you're training for — which may include injuries, medical conditions or medication if you choose to mention them
- Your plan choice and the amount payable
- Whether you agreed to the health declaration and these terms, and when
- Whether you opted in to marketing emails
- Technical details of your submission: IP address, country and browser user-agent
Health information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. I only collect it because it is necessary to deliver coaching safely, and only with your consent, given when you submit the form.
I never see or store your card or bank details. Payment is made directly from your bank to mine. If card payment is introduced later it will be handled by a payment processor, and card numbers will not touch this site.
Why I collect it
- To build and deliver your coaching program
- To create your client portal account
- To send you payment instructions and match your payment to your signup
- To contact you about your coaching
- To send occasional training and nutrition emails, only if you opted in
Where it goes
| Who | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting and the database your signup is stored in | Sydney, Australia |
| Postmark | Sending your payment and confirmation emails | United States |
| Apex client portal | Your program, check-ins and progress | Australia |
Postmark is based overseas, so submitting the form involves your name and email being sent outside Australia for the purpose of emailing you. I don't sell your information, and I don't share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.
How long I keep it
For as long as you're a client, and for seven years after that, which is the period Australian tax and business records law requires. If you never complete payment, your enquiry is kept for up to twelve months and then deleted.
Marketing emails
Only if you ticked the box. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask me to stop at any time. Emails about your own coaching and payments are not marketing and will continue while you're a client.
Security
Your information is held in an access-controlled database and transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but access is limited to me.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it where I'm not required to keep it. Email mike@hegsperformance.com and I'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with how I've handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Cookies
The signup form doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies.
